Harddisk en datavernietiging96% of the shreds left over after destroying hard drives are recycled!
We take shredded hard drives and tapes with us, and make sure they’re recycled responsibly.
After hard drives and tapes are shredded using our mobile services, there’s obviously a pile of shredded waste to deal with. This waste is collected in plastic containers directly under the shredder. We can swap these containers really quickly during mobile shredding. These containers are designed to match the logistics system of the final processor of the hard drive shreds. After destroying hard drives and tapes, we take the shreds away with us. You’ll receive an environmental document for this. IT-recycling then ensures that the shreds are recycled according to the latest technology, and with utmost respect for the environment. Almost 100% of the metal in hard drives shreds is recovered. Most of this metal is aluminium, but there are also low concentrations of other elements such as copper, lead, zinc, and a minuscule amount of precious metals. IT-recycling is WEEELABEX-certified, so recycling is guaranteed to comply 100% with legal requirements. We only engage other WEEELABEX-certified recycling companies for this. You can receive statistical data on the amount, composition and recycling method of the shredded hard drives on request. Shredded tapes are classified as plastic waste, and recycled into new plastic.
