IT-recycling is a specialist in removing air conditioning and cooling installations in all shapes and sizes. Air-conditioning equipment is always removed according to our mandatory STEK certificate, so the coolant is pumped out by our certified partner. The video above shows why it really is best to leave this job to a refrigeration engineer.
When a cooling installation is removed, it almost always includes the removal of the condenser, often located on the roof. We make sure that condensers are hoisted down safely, without damaging bitumen on the roof. The photo opposite shows a condenser being hoisted from a factory.
How to get rid of your obsolete air conditioning or cooling system in a few steps.
Make an appointment with IT-recycling for a visit. This can be done very easily online. We’ll then come and have a look at your cooling installation and the condenser. At the same time, we’ll check the logbook to see how much refrigerant it contains, and the type of refrigerant. We have more than 20 years of experience in removing air conditioners and dismantling refrigeration installations. Air conditioners are removed in a number of steps:
- The refrigeration engineer pumps out the refrigerant, and enters a record in the logbook.
- We dismantle and remove the air conditioning installation.
- We disconnect the condenser and hoist it off the roof.
- When you’re completely satisfied, the last step is signing off the job.
The trade in used air conditioners and cooling installations is subject to strict environmental restrictions, so we don’t buy obsolete cooling installations. As a result, there are therefore always costs involved in removing an air conditioning or cooling system.
Your obligations after removing the air conditioner
IT-recycling removes old air conditioning systems; the indoor part, most of the pipes, and the condenser outside. The area where an air conditioner was installed often has to be repainted after removal of the unit. It’s very important to think carefully about the appearance of the room after the indoor unit is gone. Our painter & decorator can advise you on this.
